Model of those leaving the scene of the blast. The heat was so severe, it melted the flesh off of exposed skin. The model shows survivors searching for help, with huge flaps of skin peeling off their arms.

A portion of the hand of one survivor was outside a window when the blast happened. It simply melted the ends off each finger. Part of the flesh on two fingers was mutated by radiation, so hard black fingernails grew from the ends of each finger.
The nails have blood vessels, so they bleed whenever the break off.
